. . . I am so impressed with the update. I don’t think things can get better but who knows? You guys are so innovative. May God bless.

. . . Wow, I just got your recent update (v.411), and it’s great! Just when I think this bible reader can’t get any better, you guys/gals come up with something wonderful to make it even more useful! May GOD continue to bless each and everyone of you in all that you do; in bringing his WORD to the masses with this platform.
Amen! I also just updated to 4.11, and it looks great! Kudos for working so faithfully to bring the iPhone/iPod App up to meet/exceed the functionality of the Palm OS version. When my Palm died, I was worried that I would lose some usability. Not so!
Yes I’ve been waiting for this update. It’s like a whole new Olive Tree. Thank you for all your hard work at making the Bible more accessible and more fun to use!
You can also write a review of BibleReader on iTunes. Here’s one for 4.11:

Can the copy verse function be modified to be able to copy multiple verses? That would be very useful in copying a multi verse text into Sermon notes.

I love all of your apps I use them all the time. I can not find verse numbers in Isaiah text in the ESV am I missing something?

I loved Biblereader on my Palm Tungsten but it succumbed to old age. I replaced it with a new iPhone and Biblereader was one of the first apps to be installed. I was amazed as it was better thanon the Palm. Now with highlighting, etc. it is truly wonderful. Now I find that there is a new website specific to our “hand” machines.
Thank you Olive Tree people for the wonderful work you are doing. I find the ESV Study Bible is really great. I’m a retired (because of health problems) and I now use Biblereader almost exclusively. My expensive Bible program on the PC is hardly ever touched and my old favourite Thompson chain reference NIV sits on the shelf as I now have Thompson linked with my iPhone bibles and the iPhone is much easierto handle.
May God bless you all in your work.

One more feature would make the 4.11 version a hit and that is to make it interactive with iPod audio player. Imagine having an icon on the Bible screen that would take you back to iPod where you are listening to a lecture where verses are quoted and you can pause the audio while you are checking the references in 4.11. The App Navigon GPS has that feature but it would be much more useful in a Bible study App.

I’ve got the latest bible reader on my iphone but can’t use it. Why? Because I don’t know how to return to the bible text after getting stuck with 2 split screens of hypertext references from my readings. I can’t even do my daily reading plan because I cannot get away from the screenloads of bible references to my bible text.
I’ve tried everything – clicking, scrolling, shaking, touching it all over. I haven’t tried praying over it – should I do that next?
Please advise.

Hi KeesW,
To remove the split screen tap to the right of the split screen line. This will make the split screen slider appear. Tap on the slider and the split screen will close.
To change to a Bible click on the library button on the top toolbar and then select the Bible you want to open.
I hope this helps.

I am unable to install the latest Bible Reader version on my new Android phone (Motorola BackFlip – AT&T). When attempting to install the downloaded APK file this Security Warning pops up:
This application comes from an unknown source, and for your security only applications from trusted sources can be installed.
Your Support pages suggested I should be able to disable security long enough to install the app. Not knowing how to do that, I looked on the Android support pages under Security and found this on the development pages:
Application Signing
All Android applications (.apk files) must be signed with a certificate whose private key is held by their developer. This certificate identifies the author of the application. The certificate does not need to be signed by a certificate authority: it is perfectly allowable, and typical, for Android applications to use self-signed certificates. The certificate is used only to establish trust relationships between applications, not for wholesale control over whether an application can be installed. The most significant ways that signatures impact security is by determining who can access signature-based permissions and who can share user IDs.

All of that to say, I’m thinking this is something you need to do to the APK file so Android goes, “Oh, this is Olive Tree Software … we know them, they’re OK!”
Looking forward to resolution of this. I enjoyed the NIV & The Message for almost 2 yrs on my Windows Mobile Moto Q. The screenshots & new features for the new version look great!
Thanks.

You can get BibleReader from the Android Market with a good certificate.

I just bought an iPhone and have downloaded the free version bible reader. I’ve got the KJV, ASV and NIV versions of bible, but when I click on Library, instead of loading the bibles, it re-downloads the files each time! How can this be resolved so that I could switch bet KJV, ASV & NIV without the time-consuming re-downloading the bibles each time?

At the bottom of the Library screen you can see a tab bar. Click on the “All Books” tab. This will let you open any book in your library. You are currently looking at the “My Account” or “Store” tab which is where you download books to your library.
