Over the last year Olive Tree has experienced tremendous growth and welcomed some great new people to our team. With these new additions, we’ve also recognized our experienced team members who have taken on leadership roles. Daniel Scott has been working for Olive Tree in numerous capacities over the last two years, including managing the customer satisfaction and marketing teams. He also represents Olive Tree at Christian conferences and events around the globe. We are excited to announce that Daniel (known as Danny around here) will be taking on the role of Director of Publisher and Ministry Relations.

Danny is fun-loving and appreciates a good pun, often posting groan-inducing cartoons on our kitchen bulletin board. Here are a few more things you should know about our new DPMR:

Tell us a little about your family.

Danny: My wife and I met through ACTION International Ministries where I served as the ministry assistant to the International Director. We have been married almost 3 years now and are excited to welcome our first child into our home this fall.

Any pets?

Danny: Yes, I have a 10lb miniature dachshund and a 90lb black lab. Mocha, our dachshund, is definitely the bossier of the two and puts our lab, Jeepers, in his place.

How do you spend your free time?

Danny: How do I spend it, or how do I want to spend it? With a little background in carpentry I’ve been enjoying remodeling our basement. If I’m not doing that, then getting outside and hitting the mountains or trail is what I’d rather be doing.

Coffee or Tea?

Danny: Well, Starbucks and I share the same home town, so coffee, black. Except of course when I’m in the Himalayas, then hot, spiced tea steeped in fresh cow’s milk beats coffee any day.

Any musical talents?

Danny: Some people might beg to differ whether playing the bagpipes is a talent or not since most people have a love/hate relationship with the bagpipes. But yes, I’ve been playing the bagpipes since December 14, 1993 at 12:30pm. I enjoy them so much I’ve been teaching people how to play since 1998. Currently, I’m the instructor for the Spokane County Fire Department.

Why do you love Olive Tree?

Danny: I love Olive Tree because we share a common goal…to inspire people to connect with God and the Bible. I can honestly say I haven’t picked up a hard-copy study Bible or commentary in two years because I love studying through our software on my iPad. I think that says something about what we do. I have a heart for people and a heart to see them studying the Bible. I’m a networker and love connecting the dots.  Since Olive Tree is all about connecting people with God and the Bible, I fit right in.

Thanks, Danny. We are so glad to have you on our team and are excited to see the great things you will bring to this new position.
