New Features in iOS
A few weeks ago we mentioned there were some new features upcoming for the iOS and we’re pleased to announce they are now here! Two features in particular had been requested by many of our faithful users and so if you’ve upgraded to the 5.3.2 release for iOS here’s how they work. We will also be releasing updates for Windows Desktop and Android versions of The Bible Study App soon!
BUILT IN DICTIONARY LOOK UP
With the new dictionary look up option getting a definition is easy. Simply tap and hold on a word. You’ll then tap on ‘Define’ in the toolbar and the word definition will pop up.
MULTI-VERSE HIGHLIGHTING
In prior versions of The Bible Study App it was only possible to highlight one verse at a time. Now you can highlight as many as you’d like. First click on the verse number where you’d like to start your highlight. Then tap ‘Highlight’.
Then use the arrows to indicate the verse range you want to highlight and tap your desired highlight color.
When you highlight this way your highlights transfer between whatever your version your using.

An update for Windows and Android will be released soon. -I am looking forward to the day I get an update for my mac! I Use Olivetree on Android, ios and mac. Perviously also on Windows. I have been very happy about all of them and got lots of resources on my Olive Tree. But after switching from pc to mac, I´ve been forced to use my Ipad for writing my sermons, as the mac version of Olive tree is just no good. Extremely slow with lots of lagging (I´ve got a 2013 macbook pro i5, 8gb ram, 750g hd), and some of the (for me) key features from ios and android is missing. Amongst them the ability pick verses and copy and paste. On my mac I´m forced to mark the text and use cmd-c to copy, and have to add the scripture details manually.

#14 written by Andrew 2 months agoLyle, it sounds like what you want is a Bible tagged with Strongs. It’s great tool, one of my favorites. All you have to do is tap a word and you get the Hebrew or Greek definition. I’m actually going to be posting a video tomorrow on how it works and you can also download a demo of an NASB with Strongs here: http://www.olivetree.com/store/product.php?productid=17263

This will be a great update once it gets over to the Android platforms. But the one point I find missing, not necessarily from the Olive Tree Bible Study app, although it would be a great addition is a good Bible study and prayer journal. esword has a study and daily journal as part of that program, but it’s just getting over to iOS, but also having an integrated prayer journal would be really great, especially on a cross platform app like Olive Tree. The prayer apps I’ve seen so far leave me wanting, especially since they are limited to the platforms they are available on.

Thank you Andrew! That gives me hope to make Olivetree my favorite again. I’m traveling almost 4 hours each day by train back and forth to a high school here in Belgium where I work as a Bible teacher. Believe me, I used your Bible application all the time and I really enjoyed it in the preparations of my courses!
God bless you,

Hi Andrew,
I have been using the olive tree bible reader in android mobile with plenty of resources in my library. But got an ipad especially for bible study in olive tree app. I was astonished and greatly impressed with the ipad app. So please consider the following changes in android app also, such as fast and smooth scrolling, default ios app background theme and more font options. That will do a lot. Thank you. -

Great!
Are there any plans not only to mark more than one verse but also to take a note to more than one verse?
