We’ve had the option for our users to receive Verse of the Day notifications for awhile now. We know that it can be a great reminder to get into the Word and to spend time thinking about the Lord.

Now, we’ve been able to add something new to this already well-loved feature on iOS devices.  Let’s check it out.

WHERE TO FIND IT

All you need to do is open the main window and tap “Verse of the Day.” If you have your apps set-up to automatically update on your phone, you’ve probably already seen this! If you haven’t updated yet, you’ll need to do so.

HOW TO USE IT

There’s much more you can do with Verse of the Day than simply read the verse. Tap “Read” to be taken to the passage in context in the main window. Tap “Share” to share the Verse of the Day on social, in a text, or anywhere else. Lastly, tap “settings” to customize this feature the way you want.

VERSE OF THE DAY SETTINGS

Inside the settings, you’re able to select your preferred translation and turn on verse delivery. You can even choose what time you want to receive the notification on your device.

ENJOY!

We hope you love this new feature. Always remember that you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We’ll be sharing these graphics once in awhile!

Looking forward to this on the PC desktop!

  2. Is the verse of the day feature available on android?

    • Frustrated too. New to this, no answer yet? Following.

I have not been able to find it if it is.

Sorry about this! Verse of the Day (without the images) is available on Android. The visual version that you see above will be coming soon to your app. We’ve just had to postpone the update due to other priorities! Thanks for your patience.

        • Thanks for your response. How do I get to Verse Of The Day on Android? I have searched and searched both the app and blog and have not been able to find any info to turn it on. Please advise. I would love to use this feature on my Android device. Thanks!

Verse of the Day as seen above is only available on iOS devices. Verse of the Day, with just the text, can be turned on within the app’s settings.

  3. Why is verse of the day not available on Android?

    • Charlie Alexander

I would like to see verse of the day in android too.

I cannot go d it anywhere

I didnt see an answer to it but where do you go to turn on verse of the day on Android

    • Cierra Klatt

Visual Verse of the Day, as seen above, is not yet available for Android. Sorry, Matthew!

  5. Is there an obvious and straight forward way to make the verse of the day graphic the lock screen wallpaper? It doesn’t seem possible. That would be nice and I can’t imagine it would be too much additional work (e.g. put it in the share menu). Or is there a way Andy I’m missing it?

  6. Can you add Verse of the Day available to the Win 10 app? And online / web site?

Can you allow users to set the translation of the Verse of the Day? I’d love it in ESV.

Can you allow format configuration of copying verses? Such as quotes around the text and putting reference at end enclosed in parentheses?

These are features in YouVersion/Bible but I want to live in Olive Tree 🙂
    Thank you!

  7. I love this feature! Yet even with this feature turned on, the app fails to deliver the verse to me daily, unless I manually put it off and back on every day for it to deliver to me the Bible verse the next day. Is there a way to fix this?

    • Cierra Klatt

Hmm… if you have it scheduled to show you the VOTD every day, and it isn’t doing that, there is definitely an error! If you email support@olivetree.com and tell them about this, they would love to make sure it gets fixed. Thank you!
